course info

  • CLASS DESCRIPTION:  This semester class is designed as a way for you to investigate and express your own individual identity through producing and experiencing art.  Most projects will incorporate aspects of your life (such as ideas, words, objects, stories, etc.) as jumping off point for your artwork.  You will have the opportunity to create 2D and 3D works using a wide range of media.  The projects and activities in this class are designed to help you learn to be a better communicator (visually and verbally), investigator, problem solver, and critical thinker – all important skills for whatever profession you may decide to pursue in the future.
  • PLEASE NOTE: this class does not fulfill the prerequisite for any advanced visual arts course.  When paired with a semester of Music Basics, it fulfills the fine art credit.  You may, however, choose to take Introduction to Art after taking this course.
